De Cayenne chilli is a traditional hot variety that produces 10–12 cm long, slender fruits. These ripen from dark green to bright red and are ideal for drying, pickling or making chilli powder and hot sauces. Thanks to its high level of resilience, it can be successfully grown in mild regions, even outdoors.

Cultivation & care:
The De Cayenne chilli loves warm temperatures and thrives in a sunny, sheltered location. Sowing takes place from January to March, and young plants can be planted in the open ground or greenhouse from May onwards. Regular watering and moderate fertilisation will help you achieve a rich harvest.

• Harvest time: July to October – depending on growing and weather conditions.
• Use: perfect for hot sauces, dried chilli flakes, chilli powder or pickling.
